Exhibitors At The E-see Network Launch And Organic Fashion Show
August 26 2009
Hi all
Here are some of the amazing sustainable businesses that are local and will be having a stand at the launch of the E-SEE Network for SUSU Organic on Thursday 10 September at the Sir Colin Campbell Building, University of Nottingham Innovation Park, Triumph Road, Nottingham NG7 2TU - the biggest eco-building in Europe!!
Cost: FREE to visitors
Time: 6.30 - 9.30 pm
(Sadly, illness has meant that our models are not able to give us a fashion show, but there will be fab vintage clothes and organic teeshirts to buy!!)
Peter Padun – Eco decorator. Uses eco-friendly paints that have no smell. Ideal for children, restaurants, offices, everywhere really!!
Lucy Renshaw – Lucy will be selling her new book, 'Mixed Media and Found Materials', and handmade picture frames / buttons all in her unique style
Alley Café – Ben will be there with his delicious Vegan cakes and other tasty goodies. All Fairtrade or organic and SO delicious. Why not visit Alley Café and try out a meal with organic wine or a snack with a delicious smoothie
Cooperative Bank - our own ethical bank right here is Nottingham
David Booth – David has some amazing canvases, some painted with organic grasses. He also has sculptures, both sets of work he has currently are made from recycled materials - one sculpture from vinyl 'lino' and the other pieces made from 'unused' promotional balloons. I like to create work out of unusual materials to produce a striking aesthetic.
Victor Scott – junk4funk. Victor is a musician that organises junk/re-cycled percussion workshops in schools and the community in general as a fun way to introduce recycling!
Energy Savings Trust – are bringing an information stand to tell us all the latest on renewable energy and reducing your carbon footprint
The Green Box Shop – Michelle has some amazing products, from skincare to household – all eco-friendly and something for everyone!
Bags2riches – Anna makes the most stunning jewellery from recycled plastic bags. You would never know though! She is a bit of a scientist as she is always experimenting! See Anna’s jewellery in the fashion show!
I dress myself – Hannah and Pete are local silk screen printers that are SO eco-friendly, with awesome tee-shirts, also badges and lots more. See the tees in the fashions show – for sale on the night!
Clerestory Glass – Barbara makes beautiful things from recycled glass. So pretty and for sale on the night.
Print Revolution – THE eco-friendly printers for Nottingham. Waterless printer makes them extra eco-friendly
Allan Mckie – Riverford – delicious organic veggie boxes delivered to your door, or to take away with you perhaps?
Close Encounters – no not of the third kind, but supporting eco-friendly travel. Kez will not book to golf course holidays as she can’t agree with their water policy, even though she could make lots of money if she did.
Pure South - the most beautiful jewellery and funky rings. Even the bags are recycled and so pretty. All of their supply chain is checked - Hillary is a really green girl
Screaming Green - Reuseable nappies and laundry service
Emma Williams Ceramics - beautifully painted pebbles and pots, each one unique!
Kathleen and Lilys – gorgeous vintage clothing, all perfect as Gemma sits for hours with a needle and cotton! For something different that is stylish and looks amazing, see some of their clothes in the fashion show – for sale on the night! Also purses buttons wallpaper....... and more!
